Where Does Farmer Girl Meats Deliver?

We deliver to all 48 contiguous states (all states except Alaska and Hawaii).

Delivery options and fees vary by location and can be viewed on the checkout page before you complete your order.

Available Delivery Methods Based on Your Location:

  1. Shipping via UPS: We offer 2 or 3 day shipping depending on your location. Shipments are packed with our Safe Pack insulation and ice pack system to ensure everything arrives safely and neatly. Orders are shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and will arrive Tuesday - Friday (sometimes Saturday). We'll share a tracking code with you to track your shipment at the time of shipment preparatoin.
  2. St. Louis Local Home Delivery: We offer local home delivery for anyone that lives in the Greater St. Louis area for a flat fee of $6 per delivery*. Our delivery route runs every Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m and can deliver to your home or office. Orders must be placed by 10 p.m. on the Tuesday before delivery day for same-week delivery. All orders placed after Tuesday will be delivered the following week.
  3. Local Farm-Pick Up: For anyone who lives close enough or is visiting from out of town and would like to pick their order up at no additional cost. After placing your order you'll receive an email with instructions for picking up your order.

For UPS Shipping Customers

UPS orders are shipped on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays and will arrive on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Orders are packed in a Farmer Girl shipping box with our Safe Pack insulation and ice pack system with gel packs.

Once your order has shipped you'll receive a tracking number via email to track your delivery date and time on the UPS website.

Farmer Girl Meats will not assume responsibility for incorrect addresses provided.

For St. Louis Local Home Delivery Customers

Our St. Louis Local Home Delivery route runs every Thursday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Orders are due by 10 p.m. on Tuesday for same-week delivery on Thursday. Delivery times cannot be specified, and are subject to change due to inclement weather, traffic, and holidays. Orders placed after Tuesday at 10 p.m. will be delivered the following week.

Home delivery orders are safely packed in an insulated cooler bag with gel ice packs. Your cooler will be left on your front porch or nearest drop point unless additional delivery instructions are given (on the checkout page or in your addresses settings) .

For a discount on Local Home Delivery fees, purchase the Meat Club Delivery Deal and get unlimited deliveries for any order over $29 for a year. 

Do I Need to Be Home to Receive My Delivery?

No. Due to the perishable nature of your delivery, all orders should be retrieved promptly upon delivery to be brought inside and transfered to a freezer or refrigerator. Farmer Girl Meats will not be held responsible for orders left outside for extended periods of time after delivery.

How Will My Order Arrive?

UPS shipments will arrive frozen in a Farmer Girl insualted cooler box with gel ice packs. Boxes are clearly marked that they contain perishable goods.

St. Louis Local Home Deliveries will arrive frozen in a Farmer Girl cooler bag with gel ice packs.

Farmer Girl meats are flash frozen and vacuum sealed to preserve quality and freshness. Orders are delivered chilled at a temperature below 40 degrees Fahrenheit although they may be soft to the touch upon arrival. Meat at a temperature of 40 degrees Fahrenheit or below can be safely frozen and consumed at a later time. Do not consume meat that has tempered to 40 degrees Fahrenheit or above, as measured internally by a thermometer. Once thawed, you may safely consume within five days.

Free shipping may be offered promotionally on a specific product or product(s).   Unless otherwise specified in the promotional copy, free shipping applies both to local home delivery and national courier shipment.  Free shipping for specific products does not apply to entire orders; free shipping for a specific product is limited to the shipment of the specified product.   Free shipping will not apply to other products (not specified as free shipping) in a single order.  Standard location-based and weight-based shipping rates will be applied to all other products (not specified for free shipping) in a single order at checkout.

How Does This Work?

All of our small-batch grass fed & pasture raised meats are available exclusively from our online store.

Placing An Order Online

  1. Shop in our online store just like you're at your local butcher. Pick out the items you'd like and select the quantity & weight you'd like to be delivered.
  2. Choose 'One-Time' delivery or one of the 'Deliver Every' options, then add the item to your cart. See below for details about the 'Deliver Every' feature.
  3. Enter your shipping, payment, and gift options (if applicable) when you checkout. Delivery options will be presented based on your order and location.
  4. After checkout you'll receive an estimated receipt for your order. This is based on the closest number we can provide based on the average weight of each item.
  5. Next we'll hand select and weigh each item in your order, then update your order total and process your payment. You'll receive a final receipt with the total for your order via email.
  6. Now you can kick back and relax while we deliver our high quality grass fed & free range meats from our artisan family farms right to your porch.

'Deliver Every' allows you to set up automatic deliveries on a schedule for a discount. We call this feature Auto Reorder. 
 

What is Auto Re-Order?

Auto Reorder is our way of making it super easy to eat clean and healthy. It allows you to set up an automatic recurring delivery schedule for your favorite items so you never forget and have to make a last minute stop at the grocery store for low quality meats from who-knows-where. 

Choose a delivery schedule based on right before when you think you'll run out of an item.  We'll send you an email reminder before your order processes so you can add items to it or cancel it if you'd like.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, & American Express. All orders must be placed through our website. If you need assistance placing an order we will be happy to take it over the phone. We cannot accept cash or checks.

Is Farmer Girl Meats a secure web site for credit card transactions?

Yes, very. All of your credit card and payment information is completely private. We do not hold any credit card information on our server. All credit card information is held on a secure server of our payment processor, Authorize.net. Look for the Authorize.Net verified merchant seal during check out. Farmer Girl has a SSL Certificate (Secure Sockets Layer).

When will my credit card be charged?

We try to process orders as quickly as possible, typically within 24 hours depending on what time your order was placed. 

Here is how we receive and charge customers for their order - After you checkout, you'll receive an estimated receipt based on the closest amount we can provide before weighing your each item in your order. Then we will weigh each item and only charge your card for the exact amount you will receive and send you a final receipt. 

Will I still get my order if my credit card is declined?

If your credit card is declined, we will send you an email and try to ensure you receive your order as quickly as possible once payment is made.

Where & how are your animals raised?

All of our animals are pasture raised on five small family farms in the United States Midwest. Each of our farms were carefully chosen after a thorough screening process and agree to follow our strict raising standards for producing the highest quality pasture raised meats. We do not use antibiotics, hormones, or growth promotants and ensure our animals have continuous, unconfined access to pasture year round. All of our 100% grass fed and grass finished animals live on one farm their entire life and are never given grains.

Do you use antibiotics or hormones?

No. We never use antibiotics, hormones, or steroids.

Is your beef 100% grass fed & grass finished?

Yes. 

Are your animals raised humanely?

Yes. All of our animals are pasture raised on small family farms that provide the best living conditions possible and sincerely care for their animals. We do not use industrialized or factory farming practices.

Is all of your pork from pasture raised heritage breed hogs?

Yes. All of our pork is pasture raised on small family farms and come from heritage breed hogs.

Is your chicken and turkey all free range?

Yes. All of our poultry is raised on small family farms with unconfined access to pasture.

Is your lamb 100% grass fed & grass finished?

No. All of our lamb is grass fed and pasture raised with some supplental feed containing grains.

Is your chicken non-GMO?

We are in the process of transitioning to non-GMO chicken and should have it available in our store by early summer. The Free Range Chicken we currently have in stock was given some supplemental feed that may have contained GMO corn & soy.

Are Farmer Girl Meats products sustainable?

Yes, our farms are managed with very high sustainability standards compared to most livestock farms.

Our farmers have been through extensive training for implementing and managing a sustainable practices on a livestock farm. Our grass fed beef farm is an expert in this area and trains other farms to follow a strict Holistic Management systems that not only reduces environmental impact but actually restores large areas of damaged land as well. For more information, visit www.tallgrassnetwork.com.

Are your products certified organic?

At this time, we are not certified organic, but we are committed to using organic principles as much as possible to raise our animals and maintain our pastures. Learn more about our Raising Standards.

Are your products gluten free?

Yes, our whole meat products are gluten free. Some items with additional ingredients and spices in them like sausages may contain gluten. Check the item's details to be sure or feel free to contact us with any questions about specific products.

Does Farmer Girl Meats Recycle Packaging?

Yes.

We recycle the insulated coolers that St. Louis local home deliveries are made in and our egg cartons. We ask that you leave your previous orders' empty coolers and egg cartons on your porch on delivery day. We'll take that one to be recycled when we drop your order off. 

Who processes Farmer Girl Meats?

Local USDA processing plants.

Much of our meat is proccessed at Swiss Meats in Hermann, MO. They are inspected by both the USDA and the MO Department of Agriculture where the inspectors oversee quality-assurance programs to ensure the highest degree of professionalism and safety throughout the cutting and packaging process. Our poultry is processed at Bauman's Butchery, a USDA-approved and certified processing plant that's operated by Bauman Cedar Valley Farms.

How does meat get from the farm to the processor, and from the processor to my door?

Farmer Girl Meats is unique in that we manage the whole process from farm to packaged cuts to your doorstep. Having an intergral role in the processing of our meat allows us to ensure our quality standards are met throughout the entire process.  

Farmer Girl Meats raises animals, hauls them to and from our farm to local processors, and then packages individual cuts to be delivered to our customers directly from our farm warehouse. Standard serving size is ~1/3 lb. per person for bone-in meats, ~1/4 lb. per person for boneless meats.

What is the best way to thaw Farmer Girl Meats?

Thaw your Farmer Girl Meat in the refrigerator. Plan on 12 to 24 hours thaw time. Thawed Farmer Girl meat can safely be stored in the refrigerator for five to seven days after it has thawed. Always leave meat in its package when thawing to preserve flavor.

How do I store Farmer Girl meats?

Your Farmer Girl meat was delivered chilled, at a temperature below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. It may be soft-to-the-touch if not immediately retrieved and stored upon delivery. *Farmer Girl meat can be re-frozen or stored in the refrigerator. Once thawed, use within five days.

How long can I store Farmer Girl meat in a freezer?

  • Beef: Up to one year after label date.
  • LambUp to one year after label date.
  • ChickenUp to six months after label date.
  • PorkUp to six months after label date.
